Community engagement is necessary for understanding local culture, local issues, and for taking positive local action. The philosophy "think globally, act locally" rings true because we CAN achieve globally effective and locally relevant solutions.

Through out my Prescott College education, I have looked for mentors in my greater community to guide me through my coursework. I found them in Iowa, Ohio, Oregon, and of course, Prescott, AZ. This search coaxed me out of my comfort zone, which helped me realized how much people are willing to engage in positive change and how influential I can be.
